Hedz No. 767 of 1000

Polar Bear

A hand-drawn one-of-one by Matt Furie, minted September 2022 as token 767 of the Hedz collection. There are no generative traits and no rarity tiers — the original metadata carries only the artist and this name.

The image above is recovered. The on-chain metadata is not: this token still sits on a contract held by the address that seized it on 23 June 2025. Read the contract status.

The first string was recomputed from this file’s bytes, which on its own proves only that the file is what it is. The evidence that it is the minted file is the second: all 1,000 works, rebuilt into a directory node, reproduce that address exactly — the pin published in 2022, which nobody holding the contract today can alter. One flipped bit anywhere in 279 MB would have changed it.

Check it yourself: ipfs add -n --only-hash polar-bear.png on the archival PNG prints the string above, or does not. The image on this page is a WebP derivative for size — the CID refers to the PNG.
